Hawk Semiconductor was founded by Thomas Daunais to fill a gap in the market he personally experienced: the lack of accessible, high-quality microfabrication services for smaller companies and startups.
After struggling to find a partner for low-volume work without a hefty upfront commitment, Thomas envisioned Hawk as the solution—an agile company providing flexible, cost-effective microfabrication services to innovators of all sizes.
From this vision, Hawk was born—a company that bridges the gap between curiosity and mass production.

Central to Hawk Semiconductor’s success is our unique infrastructure. We combine the resources of our in-house mini foundry with partnerships at university microfabrication facilities across the United States, anchored by the Lurie Nanofabrication Facility (LNF) at the University of Michigan.
This dual approach allows us to offer the best of both worlds: rapid prototyping capabilities in our mini foundry, complemented by scalable manufacturing solutions through cutting-edge university facilities.
